Purgatory Ski Resort
Purgatory Ski Resort is located approximately 30 minutes north of Durango, Colorado on US highway 550. This wonderful resort has a base elevation at 8,793 feet with a summit over 2 miles high at 10,822 feet. There is a vertical drop of 2,029 feet on 1,360 skiable acres. With an annual aver snowfall of 260 inches and the ability to cover 250 acres with snowmaking, the snow will not disappoint.
Lift Information Purgatory at Durango Mountain has 10 lifts serving 88 runs and can move up to 15,050 per hour up the mountain. They have 1 high speed six person lift, 1 high speed quad, 4 triple chairs, 3 double chairs, and a magic carpet. 20 % of the mountain is for beginners, 45% for intermediate, and 35% is for advanced/expert.
